On September 8th, 2023, the “Challenges and Perspectives for the Future of Platformization” conference will take place at the School of Law of Universidade Católica in Porto, Portugal. Fair MusE’s coordinator, Professor Giuseppe Mazziotti, will lead the discussion during the session titled “Are content creators platform ‘workers’?”
This conference is a pivotal component of a collaborative venture between the Porto School of the School of Law at the Portuguese Catholic University (Catolica Centre for the Future of Law) and the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Poland. The project is aptly titled “Semi-workers and Semi-competitors? The Interplay of Competition and Labour Law in Times of Platformization.”
The goal is to delve into the intricate relationship between Competition Law and Labour Law and examine the protection mechanisms in place for platform creators , including music composers and performers.
The conference will explore the existing and upcoming legislative frameworks in Portugal, Poland, and the broader European Union’s legal landscape.
