Fair MusE is excited to announce that Professor Giuseppe Mazziotti will be a key speaker at the ALAI 2024 Conference in Santiago, Chile. On October 24, Prof. Mazziotti will participate in a panel titled “Rights Management and Cultural Diversity: Real Cases and Examples”, as part of the session on “Challenges and opportunities of the Free Trade Agreements for management of copyright and related rights. Its value from the perspective of cultural diversity.”
Prof. Mazziotti’s talk, based on Fair MusE’s desk research and empirical investigations, will address frictions between Europe’s cultural diversity policies and the protection of secrecy under international trade law, particularly in the digital music licensing landscape.
ALAI (Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale), founded in 1878, is one of the most respected global organisations focused on authors’ rights and intellectual property. Its annual congress gathers leading experts to discuss cutting-edge developments in copyright law.
